So I L-O-V-E fresh peaches. They are one of my favorite fruits, and I only like them fresh. I do not do canned or frozen peaches. They don’t taste anything like “real” peaches. I like the peaches that you have to stand over the sink to eat because their juice is running down your arms! Oh yeah!
When I was pregnant with Hattie, I was hooked on Chick-fil-A Peach Milkshakes! I had one almost everyday, and I wonder why I gained so much weight. Those milkshakes are heavenly.
So I decided to do a round up of some peach recipes that I have been drooling over!
Right now, I am enjoying a Peach Honey Yogurt Smoothie that I found over at The Bitter Side of Sweet. I used plain Greek yogurt, and I added a scoop of vanilla protein powder. It is so refreshing and delicious!
For the past couple of weeks, I have been drooling over Half Baked Harvest’s BBQ Grilled Corn, Jalapeño and Peach Quinoa Salad. I swear Tieghan comes up with the best recipes. I think she needs her own cooking show and a delivery truck!
Fruit salsa is a personal fave of mine. I saw this Fresh Peach Salsa over at A Couple Cooks. I could definitely put a hurting on a bowl of this salsa and a bag of tortilla chips.
When we would go and visit my sweet Grandma in south Georgia, we would always stop at “Peach World”.(Not the actual name of the market–just what I called it) It was a peach heaven. Fresh peaches, peach preserves, peach pie, peach cobbler, peach salsa, peach ice cream, peach tea and these little pieces of heaven called peach fritters! SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!! Just like an apple fritter but with peaches! I happened to run across a recipe for Peach Fritters over at Sweet Revelations.
So I think I am going to have to go buy a bushel of peaches to make all of these recipes. Fine by me! But, I am not so sure if the Husband and Hattie will be excited to have peaches for every meal this weekend.
